Dr. Amy Poran graduated from SUNY College of Optometry in 1997 and completed her residency in ocular disease at the Brooklyn and St. Albans VA Hospitals.  She is certified in the treatment and management of ocular disease and enjoys fitting all types of contact lenses including soft, gas permeable and multifocal lenses.  Dr. Poran also treats non-surgical ocular emergencies. This year she completed a 40 hour course and passed the state exam in order to be able to prescribe certain oral medications for eye conditions. This allows her to practice full scope optometry in New York State since they updated the scope last year.
