Dr. Amy Poran

Dr. Amy Poran graduated from SUNY College of Optometry in 1997 and completed her residency in ocular disease at the Brooklyn and St. Albans VA Hospitals.  She is certified in the treatment and management of ocular disease and enjoys fitting all types of contact lenses including soft, gas permeable and multifocal lenses.  Dr. Poran also treats non-surgical ocular emergencies. Last year she completed a 40 hour course and passed the state exam in order to be able to prescribe certain oral medications for eye conditions. This allows her to practice full scope optometry in New York State.

Amir Moshe Poran

I am the co-founder of Oculus 20/20, a high end optometric and eyewear practice in Brooklyn, NY. I am a licensed optician with 30 years of experience. We specialize in precision optic lens design and high standard eyewear craftsmanship. Earlier in my career, I owned an eyeglass factory in the US, producing custom eyewear for clients who required exceptional quality, durability and aesthetic refinement. That experience shaped my understanding of optical engineering, materials, and the full life cycle of eyewear production, from concept to finished product.

I am currently pursuing my doctorate in psychology, where my dissertation centers on building the Poran Model, a layered cognitive and measurement engine designed to formalize how meaning, structure, and behavior interact. My work integrates cognitive architecture timing-based mechanisms and structural analysis to create a unified framework for understanding human meaning formation.
